Massage FAQ

How often should I receive a massage treatment?

We are often asked how often a guest should come back for a massage.  There is no right or wrong answer as every person and everybody is different.  Depending on your condition, whether we are working with an old or new injury, and what your goals are will determine the frequency of your massage treatments.  At Cradle Your Soul Yoga and Massage we practice what we preach by encouraging our staff to receive a massage every two weeks or at the very least once a month.  We listen to our bodies and know when to care for them regularly.  Remember that even though the effects of a daily hygiene routine don’t last you still take the time to shower and brush your teeth every day.

Do you do Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue is often misunderstood.  We have found that most people requesting deep tissue massage are really looking for a deep pressure Swedish massage.  When we give a deep massage we focus on communicating with the client before and during the session to be clear that the pressure is beneficial and not tearing muscle fibers.  Breathing deeply, remaining relaxed, and communicating with your therapist is the best way to achieve maximum healing during a deep tissue massage session.

How should I prepare for a massage?

Before your massage treatment plan on arriving 10 minutes early so that you are already in a relaxed state of being.  Drink plenty of water an hour before your treatment hydrating your body to maximize the healing benefits of your treatment.

Do I have to fully undress?

This is a common concern for many people receiving massage treatment for the first time.  It is one of our top priorities for our guests to feel comfortable and safe.  It is not required for anyone to fully undress and we invite our guests to undress to their comfort level.  Most guests who are concerned about undressing completely will leave their undergarment bottoms on.
